Invitational Consists Of Local Collegiate Participants Competing In One-Day Event To Be Live Streamed Exclusively On FloSports Award-Winning Platform And App
PHILADELPHIA (April 6, 2021) – The Penn Relays has announced a new five-year partnership with FloSports, a leading sports streaming and original content network, to be the new digital broadcast home of the Penn Relays. An award-winning digital platform featuring over 25 vertical sports categories, FloSports will now globally stream more than 350 Penn Relays’ events over 32 hours during the traditional three-day event, which takes place annually during the last weekend in April at historic Franklin Field. The new partnership will extend coverage of the Penn Relays beyond April and the two parties will collaborate to develop additional content throughout the year. All Penn Relays programming and content will be distributed on FloSports’ industry-leading Track & Field dedicated platform, FloTrack.
“The Penn Relays is ecstatic to partner with FloSports to highlight our local, regional, national, and international competition,” said Dr. M. Grace Calhoun, the T. Gibbs Kane, Jr. W’69 Director of Athletics and Recreation at the University of Pennsylvania. “Although this year’s event in its traditional format has once again been impacted by the pandemic, we’re excited to work with a partner that can help celebrate our history and deliver the future stories of training, competition, and resiliency through the eyes of our thousands of competitors. This will be much more than just a distribution partnership.”
“FloSports and the Penn Relays have a rich history together and we’re proud to partner with this incredible organization once again,” says Ryan Fenton, Director, Rights Acquisition, FloSports. “We look forward to streaming this legendary competition for the next several years and collaborating with the team at Penn to showcase the thousands of inspiring athletes competing, create lasting historic moments for the fans and produce compelling content that brings greater attention to this sport.”
The 2021 Penn Relays was canceled in its traditional format earlier in March due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic and local restrictions on travel, visitors and large gatherings. Instead, the Penn Relays will host a local collegiate-only track and field meet on Saturday, April 24 that is consistent with the Ivy League Council of Presidents’ parameters regarding spring sport competition.

This partnership was secured by JMI Sports, the exclusive multimedia rights partner of Penn Athletics and The Penn Relays.
